She is not waiting for her prince to save her, she is going to save herself and others. Shannon Hale shows Rapunzel not as a princess but as a heroin, a girl that can stick up for herself and solve her own problems. This graphic novel brings a new twist to the traditional Rapunzel that we all grew up knowing. This book can be use when teaching about traditional fairy tales vs. fractured fairytales.
